I led the design and rollout of Squarespace's mobile design system with an AI-assisted layer built on top of Basalt, our core component library. The goal was to dramatically reduce the time between concept and high-fidelity prototype — giving the mobile team a shared vocabulary that was already wired up to real components and ready to hand off.

The system introduced a set of AI agent rules and skills that could scaffold new prototypes, enforce token usage, and generate structured briefs from plain-language prompts. This let designers move faster without sacrificing consistency, and gave engineers cleaner specs with fewer hand-off gaps. The result was a measurable reduction in prototype-to-review cycle time and a foundation the team could extend as new patterns emerged.

I built and maintain a self-contained prototyping environment for the Squarespace mobile design team — a local web setup that mirrors the real app’s component library, typography, and spacing tokens so prototypes feel indistinguishable from production.

The environment includes an AI agent layer with structured skills for brief creation, prototype scaffolding, and automated commit workflows. Designers can describe a flow in plain language and get a fully scaffolded prototype folder, a pre-filled brief, and a live preview — all without touching a build tool. Screenshots are captured automatically on commit and surfaced on a shared landing page so the whole team can browse and share work without digging through branches.

AI business assistant on mobile

Beacon is Squarespace’s AI assistant for sellers, designed to help them ask business questions in plain language, get useful answers, and take action across their site and business workflows. I led the definition of the Beacon mobile experience and helped turn an ambiguous initiative into a concrete MVP that could launch alongside desktop. My work covered the core product and UX decisions for how Beacon should live in the app, including entry points, chat behavior, sparks, routing, consent, response patterns, and how to handle unsupported tasks on mobile.

From kickoff through launch, I was actively shaping the details that made the experience feel ready for real sellers, from routing behavior and handoff questions to entrypoint UI, feature-gating clarity, and mobile-specific Beacon branding and accessibility. The project launched as a 2% beta on June 2, 2026, co-launching with desktop, with entry points on Home, Analytics, and Selling and a roadmap to expand after early signal checks.

Invoicing tools for service sellers

Before moving to the mobile team, I had already led invoicing on web as the invoicing designer, so I came into this project with deep product context. On my last team, I worked on a suite of invoicing tools across Projects, Invoices, and Documents, owning Invoices directly. On mobile, I built on that foundation by leading how invoicing should adapt to a smaller, on-the-go context while still feeling complete and trustworthy.

Invoicing generated $1.57M in GPV and 4,887 orders in March 2026 alone, with invoicing reaching roughly $500M in all-time GPV. Mobile invoicing also proved to be a strong activation lever, driving thousands of paid invoices and a meaningful share of first-time sellers on Squarespace.
